Lake Forest placed five players on the 2016 Illinois High School Field Hockey’s Association (IHSFHA) all-state team.
Senior midfielder Greta Kullby, senior midfielder Grace Payne and senior midfielder Libby Thompson earned first-team honors for the state champion Scouts (21-2). Senior forward Paige LeClercq and junior midfielder Catherine Nicholson made second team.
The same five players also were named to the all-conference team.
Lake Forest outscored its opponents 94-7 this fall. The Scouts finished the season with 15 shutouts thanks to work of senior goalies Hannah Metzger (27 saves) and Kerry Lawler (33 saves).
Meanwhile, LF coach Melanie Walsh has announced that she is retiring after 22 seasons.
