Two Glenbrook South football players were honored by the Central Suburban League.
Senior Noah Acocella (6-foot, 185 pounds) made the all-CSL South team as a two-way player: linebacker and flanker.
Senior Jack Carasotti (6-4, 245) was selected as an offensive lineman.
Acocella was one of the team’s top tacklers (34 ½ tackles, 4 tackles-for-loss, 1 interception and 2 forced fumbles). On the offensive side, he made 12 catches for 128 yards while averaging 3.2 yards per carry.
Carasotti starred on the offensive line. He helped senior running back David Magloire amass 782 rushing yards on 143 attempts with six TDs.
GBS’s other leading ballcarriers were senior Ethan Hague (94-394, 8 TDs), senior Demetrius Baldo (25-217) and senior Jake Smiley (32-160).
Baldo also came up with 32 tackles and one interception as a defensive back.
The leading receivers for the Titans (1-8) were Smiley (27-322, 2 TDs) and senior Tony Jerfita (29 catches, 319 yards, 2 TDs).
Senior quarterback Brett Borie completed 80 of 146 passes for 886 yards. He threw five TD passes. Junior Jeffrey Chrones ended up 16-for-27 for 156 yards and two TDs.
GBS’s top defenders were junior linebacker Conor Nash (55 tackles, 1 sack), junior defensive back Andy Sirakides (51 tackles), junior linebacker Jalen Covington (40 tackles, 5 TFLs, 2 forced fumbles, 1.5 sacks), senior defensive lineman Caleb Young (39 tackles, 5 TFLs), senior defensive back Cole Christian (37 tackles, 3 TFLs, 1 interception), senior defensive lineman Jake Turk (37 tackles, 5 TFLs, 2 forced fumbles, 1.5 sacks), senior defensive back Daniel Morris (28 tackles, 2 forced fumbles), senior defensive back Danny Suhadolnik (23 tackles, 2 TFLs) and senior defensive lineman Philip Johnson (20 tackles, 3 TFLs).
